Installation Process
Preliminary Preparation
Carefully read the product manual and confirm that all accessories (such as sliders, nuts, brackets, cables, etc.) are present. Connect the transmitter, receiver, and relay cables strictly according to the instructions to avoid damage to the equipment due to incorrect connections. Clean the equipment surface before installation to ensure it is free of oil and contaminants.
Mechanical Mounting
Fixed Mounting: The light barrier is secured to the machine bed directly using threaded holes on the bottom or side-mounted brackets. This is suitable for applications where molds are not frequently changed.
Adjustable Mounting: The light barrier is secured using a dedicated bracket (such as a slide + slider structure) to allow for flexible adjustment based on mold and safety distance.
Key Details: The bracket opening must be perpendicular to the sensor filter plate and secured with M4/M6 screws. Drill holes should be placed away from the cable holes to avoid interference during installation.
Wiring Procedures
Align the aviation connector groove with the raised portion of the light barrier and insert the screws, tightening them. Power cables are color-coded:
Connect the brown wires of the transmitter and receiver together to the positive power supply terminal. Short-circuit the gray CP wires. Connect the positive terminal of the load to the positive power supply terminal, and the negative terminal to the black signal wire.
Commissioning Steps
Beam Alignment
After powering on, use a visible laser to assist in alignment. Align the transmitter and receiver horizontally to the detection range. Move horizontally to within the detection range. A red light illuminates to indicate successful alignment. Note that the fixed end cannot be adjusted; only fine-tune the other end to ensure full beam coverage.
Functional Test
Blocking the beam with your hand or an object:
If the alarm light illuminates or the device shuts down, the protection function has taken effect.
If there is no response, check for loose connections or misaligned beams.
Parameter Adjustment (Applicable to some models)
Press and hold the adjustment button for 3 seconds to enter the range setting mode. Select the desired detection range (e.g., 9 ranges from 0.3 to 2 meters). The range will automatically save after 20 seconds. Avoid detecting black objects (blind spots exist).
Notes
Location Selection: Avoid moving parts and vibration sources, ensuring that the light barrier’s protective zone covers the hazardous operating point. Regular Maintenance: Clean the grating surface every 500 hours and maintain a stable ambient temperature and humidity (recommended: 20°C, 40%-60% humidity).
Safety Interlock: After commissioning, perform a test linked to the equipment control system to ensure that the equipment immediately shuts down when the grating is triggered.
Tip: After installation, perform multiple simulated occlusion tests and regularly verify the response sensitivity. Heavy equipment such as stamping and CNC machines should only be operated by qualified personnel.
